Amazonat Libya Hosts Closing Conference for Training Program Focused on Primary Education Support
On November 3, 2024, the National Organization of Amazonat Libya held the closing conference for a training program dedicated to supporting teachers, educators, and social workers involved with children in grades 1 through 6. This project, conducted in collaboration with CESVI and funded by the European Union, focused on equipping primary education professionals with the essential skills to support children’s mental, emotional, and social well-being in the classroom.

In collaboration with CESVI and the European Union, Amazonat Libya successfully delivered a series of workshops aimed at enhancing the capabilities of educators, social counselors, and psychological advisors within Libya's basic education system (grades 1-9). The program provided participants with essential skills to address critical issues affecting students, such as drug prevention, protection from harassment, and stress management.

Participants learned about the various types of drugs, their harmful effects, and how to support individuals seeking help to quit. The training aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of drug abuse and provide educators with tools to help students make informed decisions.
Protection from Harassment and Sexual Exploitation
This session focused on educating participants about the different forms of harassment, how to protect children from sexual exploitation, and how to teach children about personal boundaries ("red zones"). It also included strategies for helping students say "no" to exploitation and seek assistance when needed.
Types of Stress and Self-Care Strategies
The training covered the various types of stress that students may experience and provided educators with self-care strategies to help both themselves and their students manage stress and potential trauma effectively.
